A first version (January 2023) of a catalogue of marine citizen-science based on a review of popular existing citizen science repositories: EU-Citizen.Science, SciStarter, and Zooniverse. In total, 105 active marine citizen-science initiatives were identified and classified within the catalogue. Project details included in the catalogue are: project name, country where the project coordinator is based, geographical coverage of the project activities, data collected, type of platform used, and website URL. The purpose of the catalogue is to consolidate the available information on marine citizen-science in European seas and to support users looking to establish a citizen-science campaign. The Iliad consortium no longer plans to update this specific catalogue but is instead looking to avoid duplicating efforts by collaborating with other initiatives who have carried out similar reviews.
