Tidal Array
The software tool presented here is a proof-of-concept for simulating tidal turbines, arranged in an array, in Pentland Firth, Scotland, UK. This tool has been developed in cooperation with MeyGen Ltd, who are operating a pilot array in the Inner Sound, Pentland Firth, Scotland. The software can be used for various purposes: marine energy resource assessment, array design optimisation, array hydro-environmental impact assessment, and operation monitoring. The current system provides essential environmental, technical and modelling capabilities that are extensible and transferable.
