DTO4ECOPS - Digital Twins of the Ocean & Early Career Ocean Professionals
Start: Monday 8th April 2024
End: Monday 8th April 2024
Location: World Trade Center, Barcelona
The DTO4ECOPS workshop focuses on leveraging ocean data networks with cloud technologies to deliver the desired ocean outcomes both today and in the future. Co-funded by the European Union and EU Mission Ocean, the event will be held on 9th April 2024, 09:30-11:30 CET at the World Trade Center, Barcelona, Spain.
A satellite event of the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference, the workshop aims to revisit existing ocean data-sharing efforts across regions, including initiatives on data and information management, capacity building, and networks.
Additionally, the workshop will take stock of ongoing ocean digital twinning efforts to discuss how Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) can utilise these technologies to advance the goals of the Ocean Decade. Through interactive discussions, ECOPs will share their perspectives, identify barriers, and propose solutions to better leverage emerging opportunities in ocean science.
Participation is free and open to all, within available capacity. Pre-registration by 31 March is compulsory. Places will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, but priority will be given to Early Career Ocean Professionals.
